Crowns and bridges in Naples

A crown covers a damaged tooth to protect it and restore its shape. A bridge fills a gap with a false tooth held by crowns on the teeth beside it.

When you need one

A porcelain crown sits on top of a plaster model of teeth on a white tray, with steel tweezers beside it.

A crown suits a cracked tooth, a tooth with a large filling, a tooth after a root canal, or an implant. A bridge suits a gap when the teeth on each side need crowns anyway.

Visits and care

A crown usually takes two visits: one to shape and scan the tooth, one to fit the porcelain. Brush and floss as usual; under a bridge, use a floss threader or a small brush.

Questions about crowns and bridges

How long does a crown last?

With good care a crown can last many years. Grinding, gum disease and decay at its edge shorten that, so keep your checkups.

Does insurance pay for crowns?

Many plans pay part of a crown when it repairs a damaged tooth. We check your plan and give you the numbers in writing first.
