What a visit includes

A hygienist cleans your teeth and checks your gums. The dentist examines teeth, gums and any dental work, and screens for oral cancer. X-rays are taken when your history calls for them.
How often to come

Many patients come twice a year. Gum disease, a history of decay, or implants may call for visits more often. We set the schedule with you after your first exam.
Questions about exams and cleanings
Do you clean implants differently?
Yes. We use instruments that do not scratch the implant surface, and we check the gum around each implant at every visit.
Can I come for a checkup only?
Yes. Many patients see us only for checkups and cleanings. You do not need a cosmetic plan to be our patient.
